MJ and Freddy
Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 10:40PM MJ and Freddy weren't quite sure they wanted to hire me. At least that's what it seemed like to me.
I met them and Freddy's mom one day in Panera Bread . They had just completed a long day of meeting wedding vendors. I believe I was the last one of the day. God bless em they were very patient and willing to talk but, because they were ready to end their day, I could tell their hearts weren't in the discussion. I thought maybe it was the last time I would see them.
Quite a while later, I got a call from MJ. They wanted to give me a shot at filming their wedding. That was great news. I wanted to shoot their wedding but I was still worried that maybe we weren't connecting.
Then something clicked.
We decided to meet again the week of their wedding at a Starbucks. Maybe it's because they were close to their wedding day and had finished all of the planning they could do. They were very relaxed and happy considering their wedding was days away. They said that it didn't matter what happened, they were going to enjoy their wedding day. They both had such great attitudes. I started to feel like this was going to be something special.
Whatever reservations I had before the wedding day, by the time of the wedding those reservations were gone. I felt so good about them and so good about being there. They were both genuine, fun and kind people. They loved their family and friends and those people loved them too. Everybody was also so welcoming to me and to Meghan. I really liked these people and I really liked MJ and Freddy.
It was a beautiful wedding day to capture on video.
They had a virtual "Dream Team" of wedding vendors. They had Bill Gilliam of Choice Entertainment, Don and Lindsay Mears of Don Mears Photography, and they had Julie of Celebrations at the Reservoir. But more importantly, they had each other and they had their family and friends. Their wedding brought two families and two cultures together in a way that was beautiful to witness.
I really hope that , in the end, MJ and Freddy are happy that they hired me. I really do.
And, I know I was very happy to be there. It was something very special to be a part of. Thanks guys.
Take care.
Bill
